Let distance travelled at 10 kmph = d km
Remaining distance travelled at 18 kmph = (80 − d) km
Total time = (d ÷ 10) + (80 − d) ÷ 18 = 6
Multiplying throughout by 90:
9d + 5(80 − d) = 540
9d + 400 − 5d = 540
4d = 140
d = 35 km
Percentage of total distance at 10 kmph = (35 ÷ 80) × 100 = 43.75%
